At UT, every corner I turn, I see someone I know, and I go through the whole process of "HI, how are you, what major, where you staying...". It's crazy I tell you, CRAZY. Good for finding a table to sit at during meals though.
Speaking of which, anyone else having an irregular diet schedule? LIke ice cream for dinner, cookies for lunch?? Yeah...NOT good for trying to beat the freshman 15.
Walking across campus aint what it used to be...

Man classes were fun!! And not even 'cause they were really fun, I was just soooo excited!!!!!!!
^_^
And anyone who figures out why (and/or fixes, WITHOUT screwing up the blog) the text looks screwy when only one word is typed, wins my UNDYING affection & admiration.

Yo wats up people, college is fun even though it has only been orientation and school dosnt start till wed. But ya its crazy. Im slowly becoming more arogant which is sort of the goal of the college besides education. ha ANYWAYS I was just wondering why dont we change the blog name a little instead of 2003 maybe 2007? Just a lil suggestion.

Okay, our orientation is lame, but I guess I should look on the bright side: at least they're not trying to kill us like Rice is. ^_^
Esp. for those chicks who are interested in science. Which is lots of y'all! I thought it was an interesting read for anyone, though.

Haha, wow, lots of Anushree sightings, huh?
Oops, roomie's trying to take a nap, and here I am clicking away. Maaaaybe I should stop for a while...?
Two minutes later: Um, nevermind, haha, she's already asleep. (Resting up to go out to frat parties later.)
Anywho, yeah, Cnet's been waaaaay too quiet. I think some people are moving/en route to college/mountain climbing (Albert), so I can temporarily forgive, but y'all better holler back, you hear?!
(Okay, I totally sound way too much like the orientation counselors here... O_o)

Kristan @ 10:59 PM [link]
And also remember, kids, that frat parties do NOT rock. They smell, there's no dancing, and it's all about guys trying to hit up girls. Yeah, totally not my scene, and not impressive.
(At least, that's how it is here at CMU. Which, obviously, should not be the standard. "We can't compare to UT," so they say.)
If anyone sees Anushree, let her know I'm down the hall from her friend Shreya? Thanks!
Hope everyone's having a good time. So far Orientation's pretty cool. (Just not frats.) Miss you guys lots, though! -_-
Y'all BETTER blog to keep in touch!!!

Welcome back Mary & Angie!!
So, um, the weather today is just beautiful, isn't it? *snicker*
Actually, I do like this weather. Even driving in it doesn't bother me. Though I was probably the only one jamming to the radio; everyone else is tight-fistedly clutching their wheels and trying to figure out when it's their turn to go since all the freaking lights are out.
Anyway, I leave THIS Saturday, the 16th. *sniff sniff* Seriously though, the Farewell Formal rocked, thank you REMIX people sooooo much for all the hard work you put in! I think it outdid everyone's expectations, by far. ^_^

Freshmen get to pick their own roommates?
This summer, for the first time, Emory let freshmen pick their own roommates in an online roommate-selection system that works on the same principles as computer dating.
Students, using screen names to hide their identities, posted profiles of themselves detailing personality attributes, work habits, music and food preferences, and answers to questions like whether they hoped to "do almost everything" with their roommate or "lead separate but compatible lives.
Roommate-matching is a summer ritual that plunges college housing offices into the most intimate realm of sleep patterns, cleaning habits, noise tolerance and sexual behavior and online matching is on the cutting edge.
At Davidson College in North Carolina, every freshman takes the Myers-Briggs personality profile, which allows the housing staff to sort the students by personality type, then match them with complementary types. The matchmakers consider everything from geography to family size, and even read the students' applications essays.
"We had a match that seemed perfect, until we discovered that one was a cattle rancher's son and the other was a vegan," said Leslie Marsicano, the director of residential life at Davidson.
There's more, but that's what I thought was most interesting.
Actually, as "nice" as that seems, of Emory & the other schools who do it... I dunno, I like the "luck of the draw" system. More providential. Yes, no?
